Our sustainability commitment at emerginC

emerginC intro

Why we act on plastic

At emerginC, an industry-leader in sustainability, we have always been concerned about our environmental impact.  We started an industry-first “buy one, plant one” tree planting program (over 1.2 millions trees planted so far…and counting!).  We manufacture most of our products with wind power.  We source our packaging with an eye to sustainability.  We have given out over 50000 metal straws and bamboo toothbrushes to help reduce plastic consumption.  And we have been on the lookout to find a partner to help prevent and eliminate ocean plastic waste, which as a company we find particularly dispiriting.  Teaming up with CleanHub, we can now support initiatives to help prevent open dumping, burning, and plastic leakage into rivers and oceans. Our partnership focuses on establishing waste management systems in crucial areas and includes beach clean-ups to educate communities. By facilitating direct waste collections from the source, we're providing access to sustainable waste management for the first time. Join us in making a significant impact on the planet's health.

More than
2 billion people worldwide
dispose of their trash in nature because there are no waste collection services.

Through our partnership with CleanHub, we fund waste collection in coastal communities where services were previously unavailable or not affordable.

This year we're supporting these sustainability projects

Through CleanHub, we fund projects that collect plastic waste - either directly from nature, at community collection points or directly from local households. The plastic is then sorted and any material that can be recycled is reused. Plastic that cannot be recycled is used as an alternative fuel in cement production, replacing coal and gas. This prevents the plastic from entering the environment again.

How we support local communities

By supporting waste collection, we improve lives in coastal communities and create safe and dignified jobs with fair pay and opportunities.

By working with CleanHub, we’re making sure 11,148 lb of plastic will never end up in our oceans. 🙌
